After my presentation were my teacher help me understand better the whole brief of the project I had to design a new display for the shop. Because I didn’t wanted to change the whole theme of my design because I think is works really good with the ethos of my company, and because I wanted my display to have the same theme as the most of the Conran shop displays which is home and telling a story, my idea for my display now is to look like a miniature environment. By converting many of their products and furniture’s into miniatures, and separate them into room section within a miniature house, will allow me to keep the company’s ethos and identity, Display more objects and create a unique display that will attract people’s eyes which is going to making them visit the shop.
These are the first initial ideas of shapes I tried for the design of the toy house and in the next page is the one I think I will continue with. I choose that one because the layout is going to give more space to show the parts of the home I want to create, but also because is more clear.
These are the architecture drawings of the detail component which is the toy house that is going to be located in the front of the shop as display. I’ve done 5 different views of the component like sections, front elevation, isometric drawing and the plan of each floor which are two. We had an architect that came into the studio and thought us how to do architecture drawings on scale but also how to create blocks as templates.
After I found the style and shape of the house that I want to use as my display, I took the dimensions of my display from my sketch up model and I drawn on AutoCAD the section and the plans of the house. Then I put them together on the sketch up model (Screenshot above) and then I extended the piece and I created the model.
To create this visuals but also give to be able to give to the background of the display, I uploaded the on real house dimensions the house of my display and I exported visuals that showing how I want the environment to change around the small house of the display.
Transparent OLED Display
The breakthrough Planar® LookThru® Transparent OLED display showcases dynamic or interactive information on a transparent surface glass. This revolutionary display allows users to view what is shown on a glass video screen while still being able to see through it. Designers can overlay text, digital images and video content onto physical objects or scenes that sit behind the glass.
